General Information

This event is for homeschooled students in 9th-12th grade (ages 14-19). Each registered homeschooler may bring a guest. Guests must meet the grade/age requirements but are welcome regardless of whether they are a homeschooled student. All attendees must adhere to HOME’s Code of Conduct and dress code (listed below).

On-site that evening there will be professional photography, a talented DJ, delicious hors d'oeuvres, treats and drinks, multiple photo locations inside and outside for snapshots, door prizes, giveaways and much more. Your teen will not want to miss this amazing event!

The night of the event, you may arrive a few minutes early to sign in your student and take a few candid snapshots.

If your student will be driving themselves, they will need to check in at the door and will be expected to remain on site for the duration of the event. This is for safety and liability reasons and there will be no exceptions without express parental permission.

The Rustic Rose has an on-site security team and HOME will have plenty of parent chaperones at the event to ensure your student’s safety as well as to enforce all Dress Code and Code of Conduct guidelines. Please plan to sign out and pick up your student promptly at 10pm.
Ticket sales will end Friday, March 27th. All ticket sales are final. There will be no refunds. Ticket sales are opening earlier than expected, but spaces are still limited. So do not delay in purchasing your student’s ticket – what a great Christmas gift!

Dress Code
Please note that if your student’s dress/outfit does not meet the rules listed below they will be denied entry with no refund.

Ladies

We recognize that every body type is unique and that there are many shapes and sizes, so we will take this into consideration when approving dresses. If you are unsure whether your student is in compliance with the dress code, please send a picture of the attendee in the dress to Jennifer Byers at 919-757-1129. A word of advice when trying on dresses is to move around, do a little dance, jump up and down, lift your arms, etc. and make sure the dress stays secure. Your student will have more fun and feel more confident in a dress that she doesn’t have to “adjust” all evening!

  • Dresses should not extend higher than 3 inches above the knee.
  • Slits in the side or front of the dress may not come higher than 3 inches above the knee.
  • Dresses should be modestly cut in the front and may not go below the bust line.
  • The back of the dress must not go below the naval line. Lacing or straps on the back of the dress are permitted, provided the dress does not go below the naval line.
  • No undergarments may show; see through garments are not permitted.
  • Shoes are required to enter and exit the venue. Formal styles are suggested; however, some ladies may choose more comfortable options such as Vans/Converse, which are fine as well.
  • 2-piece dresses are permitted if the top overlaps with the skirt waistband. The midriff may not be exposed on any style dress, whether front or sides. With arms down at your sides, flesh should not touch flesh.
  • Please remember this is a formal event.

Gentlemen

Formal attire is expected. Please ensure that your student’s clothing selections meet the rules listed below. If you are unsure whether your student is in compliance with the dress code, please send a picture of the attendee in the outfit to Jennifer Byers at 919-757-1129.

  • Formal prom attire is a tuxedo or dress suit.
  • Neck ties or bow ties are required.
  • Vest or cummerbund is optional
  • Shoes are required to enter and exit the venue. Dress shoes suggested; Clean Vans/Converse styles acceptable.
  • Absolutely no jeans, t-shirts, casual attire or tennis/athletic shoes allowed.
  • Please remember this is a formal event.

If you have any questions about dress code for the ladies or gentlemen, please email Jennifer Byers at [email protected] or call/text at 919-757-1129.

Code of Conduct

All rules outlined in the HOME Code of Conduct, which can be found in full on our website and listed below, apply to this event. In addition to the HOME Code of Conduct, please be aware of the following rules as they relate in particular to this event:

1. Dance Etiquette and Behavior
Parents, we want you to know that our DJ is familiar with our group's values and aims to select music that aligns with those as much as possible. With that said, please note the following rules:
No body against body
No groping
No provocative movements

2. Attendees are not allowed to go outside the venue, even to their vehicle, unless specifically directed by chaperones. All students will be signed in at the beginning of the event and signed out at the end of the event.

3. Absolutely no tobacco, alcohol, weapons, smoking devices, vaping, or drugs of any nature are permitted at the prom.

If a student is in violation of the Code of Conduct, their parent will be contacted to come and get them. No refund will be issued.

Parents, we want you to know that the same incredible planning and effort that has been directed into HOME's Middle School Semi-Formal over the past several years is now also being poured into creating a dazzling prom night for our high school students! Our goal is the same, which is to celebrate and encourage our high schoolers and to help them connect with each other. We want to provide a safe and fun environment where memories are created and friendships are deepened, leading to a positive experience they will carry with them for years to come. If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Byers at 919-757-1129 or [email protected].

HOME Code of Conduct

While not an exhaustive list, below are HOME’s expectations and guiding principles for appropriate behavior at all HOME sponsored events. These are put forth in an effort to honor HOME’s Mission, Statement of Purpose and Statement of Faith.

These policies apply to all HOME members and any guests they may bring to a HOME sponsored event. Therefore, HOME members should be sure their guests are aware of HOME policies and standards. If anyone is in violation of these codes, HOME Leadership reserves the right to ask them to leave HOME events for any reason they deem appropriate.

Romans 12: 9-11 “Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.”

All members and guests of HOME are expected to conduct themselves in the following manner while at HOME sponsored events:

Treat fellow HOME members with respect and dignity.

Show respect for those in authority of HOME: Board of Directors, HOME Leaders and HOME Teachers.

Dress appropriately and modestly: please do not wear offensive graphic t-shirts. Please refer to the dress code policies for specific HOME groups and events.

If you have been hurt or offended by someone in the group, HOME encourages you to go directly to them in the spirit of peace and speak to them in love. Seek reconciliation. Do not gossip within or outside of the group. If in doubt about how to handle something go to the leadership for guidance.

The following behaviors are NOT acceptable while at HOME sponsored events:

· Inappropriate public displays of affection

· Cheating

· Plagiarism

· Disruptive behavior

HOME believes that God immutably creates each person as either male or female. Members are expected to conform their conduct and dress to reflect these beliefs.

All members of HOME are to use the appropriate restroom for their biological sex at all HOME events. Children being accompanied by a parent may use the restroom of the parent biological sex. HOME defines biological sex as, 'the chromosomes and genitalia you are born with'."

HOME expects parents to immediately address inappropriate attitudes/behaviors by their child(ren). This should be done in private, away from the rest of the group.

HOME has the right to terminate membership from the group for any reason deemed appropriate by the Board.

This Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct does not exhaust the extent of HOME’s beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind. The Board reserves the right to disallow or revise activities/logistics and clubs/organizations that violate principles or would not be in the best interest of the group as a whole on a case-by-case basis.

PLEASE NOTE:

While it is not necessary to accept all these beliefs in order to be a member of HOME, we ask that you respect that this is the foundation of the group, and as such, all meetings, activities, and events will be conducted in a manner to reflect these beliefs (i.e., teaching, scripture reading, and prayer).

All those serving on the HOME Board must agree to, sign, and adhere to this Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct.

All those serving in HOME leadership positions, including but not limited to Representatives, Advisors, Administrators, Directors, and Teachers must agree to honor this Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct and act accordingly in their respective position.
